Wishful thinking and Insomnia

Here I sit, after midnight on a Tuesday night. I have done nothing today that would make me overly tired, yet I've done enough to make me tired enough to go to bed, or so you would think. I like being pregnant....most of the time. I think it's amazing. But there are some aspects that drive me crazy. And I'm sure it doesn't just bother me. My poor husband is undoubtedly tired of me telling him that I'm too warm to cuddle, or that I want some space that night, or that I don't want to eat that, and I don't want to clean this, that I'm tired of constant contractions, my list could go on and on and I'm sure that his is much longer than mine.
I guess you could say that I'm ready to get myself back. I am at my 35 weeks mark this week. My Dr. said that after next week, I can go whenever I want. I wish it were that easy, but it's not going to keep me from putting my good vibes out there. Next week, or even the week after would be great to me. This way, we bypass the anniversary, the little one's birthday, and just a busy week in general. I don't have anything next week. Or the week after. I won't lie, part of me desperately wishes that at my appointment next week, the doc says, "You're ready to go. I'll meet you at the hospital!" But what are the chances? But, I can dream.
I am so excited to meet this new little one. So scary, but at the same time, such a wonderful experience. I can't wait to see what color her hair and eyes are, how big or little she is. Good gravy, I'm anxious to make sure it's a girl! They could only tell me that they didn't think they could see any boy parts. They also couldn't see her face at all, so my fears of a cleft are still there, but we will love her just the same if she has one. I can't wait to hold her and feel somewhat normal again, or at least as normal as you can feel after this kind of thing.
My house is dejunked. Her clothes are washed and in the drawers. I have diapers and wipes ready and waiting. And I'm going to go pack a hospital bag. I. am. ready. In the mean time, I will look at the pictures of the big sister.

Miracles

So, I've been trying to get up in the morning with Phil. My lack of sleeping lately have made this slightly easier. After making his lunch, reading the scriptures and praying with him, I get in the shower and get ready for the day while I am alone. If Ella is awake, this does not happen quickly, no matter what I do. And this morning I was thinking. This is a rare happening also. I was thinking about the things that I prayed for today, and I came to the realization that there truly are miracles every day, we just have to pay attention to notice them. I have done poorly at this for a long time, but this year, it has been one of my goals to see them and acknowledge them as often as I can. So, I am going to try to post them as I see them every so often.
The first one that I noticed today was simply: LIFE. Isn't it amazing that we just LIVE? That the air has the perfect composition of oxygen for our bodies to breathe it in and use it? And our bodies! How wonderful that we can move and run and jump and enjoy being alive. And new life. I am constantly amazed at the way everything has to perfectly lined up for a baby to come into the world. I am so grateful for this. And for modern medicine! This time in my first pregnancy I was on bedrest to keep Ella from coming too early. But I was always assured that my baby would fine, even if she did come early. Isn't that wonderful? That such a little life can be sustained the way that it can now? Amazing to me.
I am also grateful that the Lord has provided us with all the tools we need to succeed in life; we just have to use them. And, that we can use them for anything. Example, last weekend, I made a list of things I wanted the Lord to help me with: patience with Ella, support for Phil, doing better at my spiritual goals, making a meal every night this week, ya know, some simple things that I felt I needed just a little push. And I decided to put something I don't usually. Though it's been tested and proven before in my life, I thought I would do it just for fun. One of our goals this year is to just beef up the savings account and be debt free. So, I asked for $100.00 to come to us this week. Kind of silly. We didn't really need it. But wouldn't you know it, we got double that, for no good reason. Love it! I am firmly a believer of 'Ask and Ye Shall Receive'. Try it.
That's all for today. But really, try it, or tell me about a little miracle you had this week. I want to hear it.
